About Us

PubLaunch is an online community where writers, funders, and publishing professionals join forces to get books published. We combine a crowdfunding platform, a full roster of suppliers, and project management resources to help you create the book you want.

Why we care

We're publishers, readers, and (secretly) writers. We understand the problems facing today's publishing industry because we deal with them ourselves every day. As publishers, we’ve felt what it's like to turn down a promising project because the writer can't cover our fees and how challenging it can be to find reliable suppliers.

We understand the overwhelming choices that writers face when it finally comes time to publish. We know how much time, lost sleep, and hand wringing went into those first drafts, and we know how hard it can be to entrust someone else with your work.

As readers, we've experienced the excitement of being swept up by a great story and getting lost for a few hours (or days) and how hard it can be to find the writers who can do that. We want every publishing professional to get a ton of work, every writer to publish a professional book that sells well, and every reader to discover a new favorite each day.

Who we are

Greg Ioannou

CEO

Greg Ioannou has been a book editor since 1977. He's edited somewhere between 2,000 and 3,000 books, as well as all sorts of other stuff, ranging from a Wii game to Burger King promo items. Since 1985, he's been the president of Colborne Communications, a writing and editing company that has worked on books for most of the major publishers at one time or another. He's also president of Iguana Books, a hybrid publishing company in Toronto. He has served four terms as president of the Editors Canada, which he helped to found in the late 1970s.

When he's not busy running the show, he likes to walk around the office sipping coffee. Outside of the office, he captains a team in a weekly trivia league and has been known to frequent local pubs and stamp auctions.

Jason Morsink

CFO

Jason has a career rich in corporate leadership with global experience in North America, Europe, and Asia. Throughout his career, he has been trusted by major corporations and global entrepreneurs to manage business development, growth, and turnaround situations. Jason has held senior and executive positions at global corporations such as IBM, TrizecHahn, and KPMG.

For the past 10 years, Jason has worked on private equity acquisitions and restructuring projects. Outside of his professional career, Jason is an active angel and start-up investor who seeks to add value to high-potential, high-growth companies with proven technologies and significant market opportunities.

Meghan Behse

President

Meghan was intimately involved in bringing the hybrid publishing model to Canada through her work launching and later operating Iguana Books. She has also been working as an editor for nearly 10 years and has helped over 50 authors see their manuscripts to publication.

Prior to joining PubLaunch, Meghan was the vice president of Colborne Communications and co-founder and president of romance publisher Tryst Books. She has her master’s degree in English from the University of Toronto.

Daniella Postavsky

Project Lead

Daniella started as an intern at Iguana Books, where she found her footing running the company's social media accounts and coordinating ongoing projects. She spent the next few years doing everything from social media ghostwriting to interning at a public relations agency and volunteering on the communications team for the 2015 Pan Am Games.

Daniella holds a BA in English and psychology from the University of Toronto and a certificate in corporate communications and public relations from Centennial College. She is a firm believer in good hiking boots and the public library system.
